Rosecrance Therapies is expanding access to specialized care with the launch of two new intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) designed to support adults seeking more structured treatment for mental health and eating disorders.

What can I expect in a mental health IOP?

At Rosecrance Therapies | Chicago-Norwood Park, the new mental health IOP offers adults a supportive environment to address symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and disrupted daily functioning. The program provides more structure than traditional outpatient therapy, helping participants build stability and strengthen emotional well-being.

The mental health IOP is especially beneficial for individuals stepping down from inpatient or higher levels of care, those struggling to maintain work or school due to mental health symptoms, or anyone needing extra support to manage daily life. Services include individualized treatment plans, family and education groups, skill-building and recovery-focused planning, and access to psychiatric services for a comprehensive approach.

What can I expect in an eating disorder IOP?

Rosecrance Therapies has also introduced a virtual eating disorder IOP for adults, providing multidisciplinary, evidence-based care for individuals experiencing eating disorder symptoms who require more support than traditional outpatient therapy.

The eating disorder IOP is designed for individuals whose symptoms have begun to affect their daily lives, relationships, or overall well-being, yet who do not require inpatient hospitalization. This level of care offers the right balance of structure and flexibility—supporting adults who are ready to engage more deeply in recovery while maintaining their routines at home, work, or school.

By addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of eating disorders, the IOP helps participants build stability, strengthen coping skills, and move toward lasting wellness.

This 12-week program let by two Rosecrance clinicians and a registered dietitian combines group therapy, individual therapy, family involvement, nutrition counseling and meal support, and medical/psychiatric monitoring.

  • Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (the group meets three days a week)
  • Time: 5–8 p.m.
  • Where: Virtual, through our secure electronic health platform

The eating disorder IOP serves adults with mild-to-moderate diagnoses of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, other specified feeding or eating disorder (OSFED), and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).

Treatment integrates proven modalities, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive remediation therapy (CRT).
