Michelle Nelson is a dedicated Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Supervisor with over 5 years of clinical experience in the behavioral health field. Nelson brings a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach to supporting individuals and teams working with substance-affected populations. She earned her bachelor’s degree in human services then obtained her Master of Mental Health Counseling degree. She joined Rosecrance in February 2021 as an outpatient mental health clinician at Rosecrance Ware Center. Before joining Rosecrance, she worked as a mental health clinician in a private practice in the Rockford area. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and reading a good book.
