Megan Johnson, M.S., LCPC, CADC, provides individual and group counseling for adolescents and adults ages 12 and older at Rosecrance Therapies in Frankfort, Illinois. She specializes in treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, personality disorders, self-esteem concerns, anger, and relationship challenges. Johnson also has experience working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community and frontline workers, including first responders. Johnson’s therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and harm reduction. She partners with clients to build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and support lasting, meaningful change. In her role, Johnson enjoys helping clients better understand their mental health and identify strategies to reduce stress in their daily lives. She creates a warm, welcoming therapy environment where clients feel safe to move at their own pace, building trust while exploring challenges and working toward their goals. She is motivated by client feedback and values adapting her approach as each person’s needs and goals evolve throughout treatment. Johnson earned her Master of Science in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cornell College. She looks forward to continuing to expand her expertise in areas including trauma and eating disorder treatment while serving individuals and families in the community.
