outpatient day program
Partial Hospitalization Program
Rosecrance’s partial hospitalization program (PHP) is an outpatient day program where individuals complete treatment while staying in their home environments. It’s focused on achieving stability and creating health routines for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. PHP is typically for people stepping down from residential treatment or for people whose schedules don’t allow for residential treatment.
How the partial hospitalization program works
Rosecrance offers in-person outpatient partial hospitalization programs (PHP) in Chicago and McHenry County, Illinois.
The length of the program is individualized to a person’s specific needs. Individuals typically meet about 20 to 24 hours per week (four to five hours per day) in a structured setting for a few weeks.
PHP for adults in Chicago is for treatment of substance use disorders and PHP for children ages 8 to 12 in McHenry County is for treatment of mental health disorders. Group counseling allows for connection and opportunities to develop healthy coping strategies and learn from others navigating similar challenges.
