Rosecrance Jackson Centers State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant training opportunities

Access one-hour trainings related to the State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant.

Rosecrance Jackson Centers has two Prevention Specialists who provide SOR grant services, Chelsey Bobzien, M.A., IADC, and Austin Pierce, B.A., CPS. They are excited to provide the trainings listed below to your organization. Titles/Descriptions of State Opioid Response (SOR) Grant Training Opportunities

Substance Use 101

Recognize commonly misused drugs, describe how drugs impact the body, identify risk factors of a substance use disorder, and identify resources for substance use disorders.

Understanding Addiction & Recovery: Information for Family, Friends, & Caregivers

Define what addiction is and how our thinking has evolved based on the science, visualize the recovery process (readiness, entry, during, long-term), differentiate between harm reduction and MOUD, and clarify the roles that family/friends/caregivers play in support as well as self-care, and available resources.

Opioid Overdose Education and Naloxone Training

Define various terms related to opioid overdose and Naloxone (Narcan), recognize the signs of opioid overdose, demonstrate how naloxone works/how to administer, and identify where to get Naloxone in your community. If this training is provided in-person, Naloxone will be distributed to participants following the training.

Stigma Associated with Substance Use Disorder Training

Recognize the three types of stigmas associated with substance use disorders, identify common perceptions and behaviors that promote stigma, describe problems caused by stigma, and identify strategies to engage audiences for stigma change.
