Rosecrance Jackson Centers celebrates expanded downtown Sioux City location
The expanded space brings substance use and mental health services together in one location, creating greater opportunities for coordinated, whole-person care.
Rosecrance Jackson Centers celebrated the open house of its renovated and expanded downtown Sioux City location, marking a significant investment in behavioral healthcare and expanding access to integrated services for individuals and families across the region.
The project renovated nearly 5,800 square feet of the historic Baxter Building in downtown Sioux City. The approximately $1.2 million project includes $1 million in funding through the Iowa Opioid Treatment and Recovery Initiative Grant.
The expanded space brings substance use and mental health services together in one location, creating greater opportunities for coordinated, whole-person care.
The downtown office continues to provide substance use services for adults and adolescents, including individual, group, and family therapy, peer support, and case management. The expansion also increases access to mental health services for children, teens and adults through therapy and counseling focused on emotional and behavioral well-being.
A key addition is psychiatric services and Medication-Assisted Treatment, or MAT, offered alongside therapy and counseling. Bringing these services together is designed to improve coordination, reduce barriers to care and provide clients with more comprehensive, person-centered treatment.
“Expanding access to care means making it easier for people and families to get the right support in the right place,” said Julie Enockson, president of Rosecrance Iowa. “This new space allows us to bring multiple areas of behavioral health care together while continuing to meet people where they are. We’re grateful to our community for supporting this work and for trusting us to walk alongside individuals and families on their journey toward hope, healing and recovery.”
Enockson said she was especially proud of the Rosecrance Jackson Centers team, which continued serving clients throughout the construction and renovation.
She also expressed gratitude to the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the state of Iowa for their partnership and investment in expanding behavioral health care in the community.
The open house marks another step in Rosecrance Jackson Centers’ ongoing efforts to respond to behavioral health needs throughout the region. The organization has served the Sioux City community for 50 years, continuing a commitment to expanding access to quality care and supporting individuals and families on their paths to recovery.
“A lot has changed over the past 50 years, but one thing has not: When someone in our community needs help, we want to be here, and this space helps us do that even better,” Enockson said.
