Rep. Foster gets close-up view of Rosecrance Community resources in McHenry County
Rep. Foster was introduced to community-based programs, including the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for youth at this location, which addressed a critical gap in crisis services.
On July 25, Congressman Bill Foster made his inaugural visit to the Rosecrance facility located in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where the dedicated staff warmly welcomed him.
During the visit, he toured the facility and spoke with Rosecrance staff to learn more about the services offered across the network, with a special focus on the services available to McHenry County residents.
He was introduced to community-based programs, including the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for youth at this location, which addressed a critical gap in crisis services.
The PHP is designed for children aged 8 to 12 in McHenry County struggling with mental health disorders. It includes group counseling to help participants connect and develop healthy coping strategies. The program is tailored to individual needs, typically requiring 20 to 24 hours per week (four to five hours daily) over several weeks.
Substantial investments in community-based services have played a crucial role in broadening the range of services offered within communities. These efforts have not only enriched the types of support available but have also significantly diminished barriers that previously made access difficult for many individuals.
“We are committed to addressing the needs of our community and will continue to adapt as those needs change,” said Melissa Loesch, Director of Rosecrance Community – McHenry and Boone County Region. “Through our ongoing efforts, residents of McHenry County now have improved access to essential services, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.”
