  • Alcohol misuse

Rosecrance prevention specialists in Iowa work with 17 counties to create customized prevention plans that address the unique needs of each community. Their primary goal is to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol, opioids, cannabis, and gambling by implementing evidence-based strategies.

The prevention team provides education through presentations, consulting services, and media campaigns. They also collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, casinos, local nonprofit organizations, and community clubs to enhance their prevention efforts within the communities they serve.

“By collaborating with these organizations, we have the opportunity to share our knowledge, expertise, and resources to enhance the understanding of mental health and substance use disorders,” Dziedzic said. “These partnerships not only raise awareness but also promote education, paving the way for better outcomes for individuals and their communities.”

Rosecrance offers various evidence-based programs and training designed to educate community members about mental health and substance use. These programs provide valuable information in schools and community settings, and state and local grants fund them. The compassionate staff who manage and support these prevention programs reach out to thousands of children, teens, young adults, adults, and families each year.
