Galena welcomes Rosecrance to address behavioral health needs

What first began as a small office with limited hours at the Jo Daviess County Health Department quickly revealed a deeper community need

Rosecrance is deepening its commitment to rural communities by opening a new full-service location in Galena, ensuring residents no longer must travel long distances for essential mental health and substance use care.

What first began as a small office with limited hours at the Jo Daviess County Health Department quickly revealed a deeper community need. As more individuals and families sought support, it became clear that a dedicated, full-time space was essential to improving access to care.

Last year alone, Rosecrance delivered hope, healing, and recovery to more than 77,000 people across over 70 locations. Each person served represents a unique journey and another opportunity for lasting change. In Galena, however, distance had long been a barrier for residents seeking timely services. With a warm welcome from local leaders and the Galena Area Chamber of Commerce, Rosecrance is honored to strengthen its presence in the community and provide a vital connection to higher levels of care when needed.

With this expansion, the new Galena location will offer a wide range of services, including mental health and substance use assessments and screenings; outpatient counseling for individuals of all ages and their families; adult substance use disorder treatment; DUI evaluations; and psychiatric care delivered through telepsychiatry.

“As we listened to the needs of Jo Daviess County, it became clear that our community deserved more than limited access and long drives for care,” said Keri Fager, Regional Director of Western Illinois and Northern Iowa. “Opening a permanent location in Galena reflects our commitment to meeting people where they are and ensuring that every individual and family has timely, compassionate support close to home.”
