The Rosecrance Foundation launches inaugural Dancing for Recovery in Siouxland

Four teams will perform for their community on Oct. 20 at The Warrior Hotel Grand Ballroom while raising funds to help individuals and families access mental health and substance use treatment at Rosecrance Jackson Centers.

Eight familiar faces from across Siouxland are trading their everyday routines for dance rehearsals as they prepare for The Rosecrance Foundation’s inaugural Dancing for Recovery event.

Four teams will perform for their community on Oct. 20 at The Warrior Hotel Grand Ballroom while raising funds to help individuals and families access mental health and substance use treatment at Rosecrance Jackson Centers.

“This is the first event of its kind for our foundation, and it has a strong hometown feel,” said Karina Pedroza, director of development for The Rosecrance Foundation. “These are people our community knows as neighbors, colleagues, and local leaders. They’re putting themselves out there to start conversations about recovery and help more Siouxland families get treatment when cost stands in the way.”

The teams are competing for the Mirror Ball Trophy, with every $1 raised counting as one vote. Proceeds will support charity care at Rosecrance Jackson Centers, helping reduce financial barriers to treatment.

The local participants are:

  • Nissan Brown, sales director at The Heritage at Northern Hills, and Omar Munoz, owner of River City Silent Disco
  • Kari Winklepleck, president of the UnityPoint Health–St. Luke’s Foundation, and Mike Winklepleck, teacher, head football coach and girls golf coach at Sioux City East High School
  • Becca Feauto, owner of Becca.Feauto, and Rick Feauto, regional finance controller for Cold Link Logistics
  • Dr. Christian Supiot, career coach at Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates, and Dr. Stacey Alex, Spanish professor at Morningside University

Community members can support their favorite dance team now through donations or attend the event to see each team perform after months of preparation.
