Amy Young, Director of Nursing, named Frontline Honoree in behavioral health
Young is widely respected for her compassionate, people-first leadership.
Amy Young, Director of Nursing at Rosecrance Behavioral Health, has been named a Frontline Honoree in Behavioral Health, recognizing leaders who are redefining frontline care and making a lasting impact on patients, families, and communities.
A fierce advocate for equitable access to care, Young is widely respected for her compassionate, people-first leadership. She leads with integrity and empathy, ensuring that diagnoses, histories, or circumstances never define the quality of care an individual receives.
“Amy is the kind of frontline leader who reminds us why we do this work,” said Dr. Raymond Garcia, Chief Medical Officer at Rosecrance Behavioral Health. “Her patients know they matter. Her team knows they’re not alone. And our organization is better because she’s part of it.”
Young has played a pivotal role in expanding access to evidence-based care for individuals facing substance use and psychiatric disorders throughout her tenure at Rosecrance. She helped design and implement the organization’s medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program, which now serves hundreds of clients each year and has contributed to a 28% reduction in relapse rates among participants.
In addition, Young provides leadership for one of northern Illinois’ only medical detox programs for pregnant women, championing high-quality, inclusive care for a population that often encounters stigma and limited treatment options.
“Amy strengthens the behavioral health mission by focusing on ways to improve access, quality care, and respect,” said Carlene Cardosi, President of Clinical Services, Chief Operating Officer for Rosecrance Behavioral Health, and President of Rosecrance Therapies. “She leads in a way that supports both the people she serves and the teams she mentors. We’re better because of her.”
Rosecrance Behavioral Health is proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and grateful for the compassion, excellence, and standard of care Amy Young brings to behavioral healthcare.
