Help Rosecrance Run for the Kids in Chicago on July 18

On Thursday, July 18, join Chicago firefighters and paramedics for 2013 Run for the Kids 5K, an event sponsored in part by Rosecrance.

The race is held annually by Ignite the Spirit, an organization that was launched in 2003 by Chicago firefighters in response to the attacks of 9/11 and to help the families of first responders. The organization grew to embrace several causes, with a special focus on those that help children. This year’s event will benefit Chicago children’s hospitals as well as children affected by the Sandy Hook and Boston Marathon tragedies.

The race will be held at Stadium Green/Soldier Field, 1600 Museum Campus Drive in Chicago. Registration fees are $35 in advance, $45 on race day, $10 for the Junior Jog. Race day registration is at 4 p.m.; step off is at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s event will feature teams. Team captains must register first and will create their team during the registration process. Team Members will register after the team captain has registered and created the team. Team members will then select their team name from the drop-down box on the online registration form. Prizes will be given for largest team, biggest fundraising team and other categories.
