Rosecrance McHenry County celebrates 10 years in the community

When McHenry County faced the loss of vital behavioral health services in 2012, Rosecrance was welcomed by the community to continue life-giving work. A decade later, Rosecrance McHenry County is proud to be a champion of hope for the region through innovative treatment that impacts thousands of individuals and families each year.

At the time, McHenry county residents were very familiar with the Rosecrance reputation as a leader in behavioral healthcare and had been receiving expert services in other locations for many years. Rosecrance had touched many lives through residential care, educational programming for youth, families, and clinicians, and other care.

Thanks to strong relationships, Rosecrance McHenry County has become the provider of adolescent and adult mobile crisis response (MCR) services, as well as a valuable resource for a full continuum of mental health and substance use outpatient care.

Beyond this, Rosecrance is giving back to the region by hosting Alumni programming to strengthen the recovery community. This provides those on the recovery journey opportunities to build healthy relationships and encourage their walks.

“We were blessed to be welcomed by people who made it possible for us to offer comprehensive services for the region,” said Rosecrance McHenry County Director Melissa Loesch, LCPC, LPHA. “These programs are connecting individuals, as well as families, to treatment and resources they need. This has made an invaluable impact in the county.”

A decade of success would not be possible without a strong network of partners. The McHenry County Mental Health Board has been a vital partner from the first day. Over the years, the United Way, Community Foundation for McHenry County, law enforcement, schools, and other clinicians have enabled Rosecrance McHenry County to strengthen its mission to provide help, hope, and lasting recovery.

“We formed an incredible bond and relationship with the Mental Health Board and its staff, among others, and we have enjoyed a warm and supportive relationship ever since,” said Rosecrance Regional President Carlene Cardosi, M.S.W., LCSW. “We are grateful to be a part of the McHenry County fabric and to serve its citizens who have behavioral healthcare needs.”

To thank McHenry County for its support, community members are invited to a celebration on Thursday, September 22 at the Rosecrance Crystal Lake outpatient center, 422 Tracy Court. The event will be from 1-3:30 p.m.
