On its website, WREX reports on the upcoming opening of the Rosecrance Triage Center in downtown Rockford, including an explanation of how patients will be seen:
“Someone would go first to an emergency room and when hospital workers realize it’s a psychiatric emergency and that individual needs to be screened, they can do the medical clearance at the emergency room, and then call us. Then we would have the person transported and then we would be able to assess them for their psychiatric needs.” -says Rosecrance Community Mental Health Vice President Mary Ann Abate.
