Rosecrance to host “Vaping: What’s Behind the Smoke” presentation in central Illinois

Photo of Matthew QuinnRosecrance Community Relations Coordinator, Matthew Quinn, will present a, “Vaping: What’s Behind the Smoke” training on March 6, 2019, from 3:30- 5:00 p.m. at Rosecrance on Moreland in Champaign, IL.

Quinn, MA, LCPC, CADC, provides community relations in the western suburbs of Chicago in DuPage, Kane, and Kendall counties. He joined Rosecrance as an Outreach Counselor in 2015, conducting substance use assessments, prevention classes, and leading a parent support group. He has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.

The Surgeon General reports that there has been a 900% increase in vaping among high school students since 2011. By effect, kids have recently started vaping in the bathrooms, hallways and even classrooms of their schools. The presentation will address the risks of vaping, educate attendees on the devices being used, and review current vaping and substance abuse trends.
