Rosecrance and Insight Behavioral Health Centers present “Treating Adolescents in Context: The Impact of Culture and Family” on Friday, Sept. 20, in Oak Park.
When working with troubled adolescents, understanding the impact of the systems surrounding them is critical. This session highlights the clinical use of family when treating anxiety and the cultural factors impacting the treatment of substance abuse. Practitioners who see teens with multiple issues will gain skills for use in many areas.
Ellen Astrachan-Fletcher will present “Assisting the Anxious Adolescent with Multifamily DBT.” Astrachan-Fletcher, Ph.D., is Chief Clinical Officer and Director of Adolescent and Family Programs, Insight Behavioral Health Centers. She is also co-author of “The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook for Bulimia: Using DBT to Break the Cycle and Regain Control of your Life.” (2009)
Christopher M. Yadron will present “The Many Faces of Addiction: Culturally Sensitive Treatment with Adolescents.” Yadron, MDiv, MA, LCPC, CADC, is the Rosecrance Outreach Manager, overseeing operations at all six Rosecrance locations in Chicago. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug
Counselor in Illinois.
The program will be held at the Carleton of Oak Park, 1110 Pleasant St., Oak Park, IL. Registration and a continental breakfast will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m., and the presentations will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.
