Rosecrance expands in-house legal department in response to growth

Rosecrance is pleased to announce Stephanie Clay has accepted the newly created position of Associate Counsel. Clay began working for Rosecrance in 2017 as a Law Clerk and will transition over to her new role effective immediately.

The Associate Counsel position serves as a response to recent growth and expansion, but also as preparation for future opportunities, explains Rosecrance Vice President and General Counsel, Kelly J. Epperson.

With nearly 1,000 employees, Rosecrance serves more than 30,000 individuals and families annually throughout 50+ locations in the Midwest, and the organization continues to seek new opportunities for expansion.

“The legal landscape for behavioral health providers is always changing and it’s important that Rosecrance is backed by a capable and diligent legal department to navigate effectively,” says Rosecrance President/CEO Phil Eaton.

Clay will provide Rosecrance with legal assistance pertaining to mergers and acquisitions, parity enforcement, government regulations, not-for-profit management, confidentiality and internal policies and ethics.

Clay has current Bar memberships in both Virginia and Illinois. She is a 2010 graduate of Regent University of Law, where she was ranked in the top 25 percentile of her class and was awarded the best closing argument at the 2011 Regent Mock Trial Competition. Additionally, Clay received the Regent “World Changers” Scholarship.

“I trust that Stephanie will advance the legal interests of Rosecrance and offer innovative solutions and advice so that our mission is carried out to its fullest potential,” says Epperson.
