We understand you have questions and need answers. Having a specific contact person whom you can work with is important in building a relationship. Our Community Relations Team is here to assist you with information about our programs and services, scheduling an assessment, contacting other resources, and navigating your client’s progress.

Our Community Relations Team consists of individuals skilled in:

  • Communicating with families in crisis
  • Finding referral sources within your community
  • Gathering information that may assist you in better serving your client
  • Providing training/education in topics of interest
  • Conducting family education workshops

 

Janis Waddell, MS, CSADC

Janis Waddell oversees all local, regional and national marketing efforts of the organization including working with private and public sector referral sources. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the addictions field, including 10 years of providing direct clinical services to adolescents. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Western Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling/Education from Northern Illinois University. Her areas of expertise include behavioral healthcare marketing, insurance managed care contracting, adolescent and adult substance abuse treatment, and current trends. Sandra Beecher, MA, CRADC, SAP, PCGC, MISA I

Community Relations Coordinator

Sandra Beecher is a Community Relations Coordinator at Rosecrance. She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Degree (MA) from Lincoln Christian University. Sandra is a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CRADC), a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) as well as an accredited professional provider to clients with co-occurring conditions (MISA I).Sandra has been active in the field of social service for more than 25 years. She has conducted numerous national, regional and local presentations on a variety of topics related to addiction and mental health. Maureen Collins, BA

Community Relations Coordinator

collins_MaureenMaureen is responsible for coordinating community activities and developing business relationships in McHenry, Lake and North Cook Counties in Northern Illinois. Previously Maureen was Behavioral Health Intake Coordinator and Community Relations Representative for Advocate Medical Group. Mary Egan, MAM, CADC

Director of Outreach

Mary Egan manages the assessment and outreach efforts in the Rosecrance Chicagoland offices including Naperville, Northbrook, Frankfort, Oak Park, LaGrange and Lakeview.  She oversees the clinical intake of the Chicagoland offices and performs marketing, outreach, and communications with individuals, families, schools, hospitals and other referral sources. She speaks to professionals and parents on the topics of drug trends, parental influence and adolescent addiction.

She previously held a position as a Student Assistance Program Coordinator at a local high school for 17 years where she developed the school’s Student Assistance Program; counseled students, parents and staff on youth substance issues; conducted support groups for students; and provided training for the school community on substance abuse and related issues. With over 25 years’ experience working in the substance abuse field, Mary is committed to helping teens, adults and families access resources for a healthy life. Mary joined Rosecrance in 2008.

Mary holds a Master of Arts Degree from the University of Illinois at Springfield, a BS degree in Alcohol Education and a BA degree in Psychology from Quincy University. Mary is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has received several recognition awards including the Award for Community Excellence from the Oak Lawn Community Partnership, the Partnership Award for Excellence from the Partnership for a Safe and Drug Free Community and the Illinois P.T.A. Distinguished Service Scroll.

Claudia Evenson, CSADC

Community Relations Coordinator

Claudia Evenson

Claudia Evenson coordinates various community activities such as educational programming in schools and early intervention classes. Evenson holds a certificate in Addiction Studies from Felician College and is a Certified Supervisor Alcohol Drug Counselor. She currently serves as a delegate to the Illinois Student Assistance Professional Board, as well as sits on the Community Network Regarding LGBTQ Youth for DuPage County, Illinois. Scott Gielow, MA, CADC

Outreach Counselor

Scott is a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor. He has been assessing and treating adolescents with substance use issues since 1994, along with providing related family counseling. He provides assessments and drug and alcohol education at Rosecrance’s Northbrook office. Scott has a B.A. from Trinity University in Deerfield and a Master of Arts in Education from National Louis University in Wheeling, with an emphasis in Special Education.

 

Mandy Lightfoot, MA, CADC

Outreach Counselor

Mandy Lightfoot is a Board Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with Rosecrance New Life. Mandy is responsible for relationship building and business development for Rosecrance New Life in the Quad Cities. Mandy also provides alcohol and drug counseling, and other therapy services. Mandy obtained her Master’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in substance abuse from Kaplan University. Mandy has previous experience in customer service, accounting and human resources. Mandy is very dynamic, and assists in many other administrative duties.

 

Lisa Primm, MS, LPC, CADC

Lisa Primm

Lisa Primm is primarily responsible for relationship building and business development in Rockford and the northwestern counties of Illinois. She first joined Rosecrance in 1994 as a Unit Counselor at Rosecrance on Alpine. Lisa joined the marketing team the following year. She also has nine years experience at another treatment center. She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and is certified as a Licensed Practical Counselor and as an addictions counselor. Email Lisa Primm

 

 

Matthew Quinn, MA, LCPC, CADC

Community Relations Coordinator

Matthew provides community relations in the western suburbs of Chicago in DuPage, Kane, and Kendall counties. He is a member of the Community Alliance for Prevention in Naperville, the Juvenile Justice Council in Kane County, and a consultant for the Connect For Life program through the Naperville Police Department.  Matthew joined Rosecrance as an Outreach Counselor in 2015. He lead the Parent Café parent support group, conducted regular Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) classes, and conducted substance use assessments in the Naperville office prior to moving into a community relations role.  He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in psychology at the University of Notre Dame and Master’s Degree in clinical psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology.  Matthew is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) in Illinois. He was the program coordinator for the Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Linden Oaks at Elmhurst for eight years prior to coming to Rosecrance. He was previously a therapeutic mentor for troubled teens and a member advocate for an employee assistance program (EAP) as well.  He has been counseling adolescents and adults in individual, couples, and family counseling for the past 15 years.

 

 

Laura Schramm, MHS, CADC

Outreach Counselor

schramm2Laura is a certified drug and alcohol counselor and worked on-site in several schools before she began at Rosecrance in 2011. She provides assessments and drug and alcohol education at Rosecrance’s Chicagoland offices. Schramm has a B.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Health Sciences in Addictions Studies and a Post Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Governors State University in University Park, IL. Lindsey Vass, MSW, LCSW, CADC

Outreach Counselor

Lindsey Vass is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She is also a certified Mental Health First Aid – Youth instructor. She has been with Rosecrance for over six years with clinical experience in assessments, education/prevention, individual and group counseling.  She worked for 5 years at the Rosecrance Chicago area locations as well as Argo high school as a substance abuse counselor. She is currently working with the Winnebago and Boone County school districts as well as various other organizations both local and regional doing outreach and clinical work. She provides trainings to adults and adolescents on various substance use related topics. Vass has a B.A. in communications and business from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s Degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago. Jennifer Venezia, MA, CADC

Community Relations Coordinator

Jennifer provides community relations in the city of Chicago and the southern suburbs of Will and Kankakee counties. Jennifer joined Rosecrance in 2016. Prior to moving into the Community Relations role, she was an Outreach Counselor in the La Grange office, conducting assessments, Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) classes, and serving as Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Riverside Brookfield High School. She comes to Rosecrance from California, where her clinical experience includes Primary Addiction Therapist at The Henry Ohlhoff Recovery House, Counselor at Mill Valley Middle School, Admissions Counselor at Bayside Marin Treatment Center, and Psychotherapist at the Marina Counseling Center, working with individuals, couples, and families. Jennifer holds a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from College of the Holy Cross.
