We understand you have questions and need answers. Having a specific contact person whom you can work with is important in building a relationship. Our Community Relations Team is here to assist you with information about our programs and services, scheduling an assessment, contacting other resources, and navigating your client’s progress.

Our Community Relations Team consists of individuals skilled in:

  • Communicating with families in crisis
  • Finding referral sources within your community
  • Gathering information that may assist you in better serving your client
  • Providing training/education in topics of interest
  • Conducting family education workshops

 

Janis Waddell, MS, CSADC

Janis Waddell oversees all local, regional and national marketing efforts of the organization including working with private and public sector referral sources. She has more than 25 years’ experience in the addictions field, including 10 years of providing direct clinical services to adolescents. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Western Illinois University and a Master’s Degree in Counseling/Education from Northern Illinois University. Her areas of expertise include behavioral healthcare marketing, insurance managed care contracting, adolescent and adult substance abuse treatment, and current trends. Kelly Dinsmore, BA

Director of Business Development

Kelly Dinsmore is responsible for the development of new business relationships, joint ventures and outreach in Boone County, IL., and Wisconsin. Kelly began her career in the behavioral health field at Rosecrance in 2002 as a Community Relations Representative in Chicago. Before returning in to 2008, Kelly spent three years as the National Outreach Manager for the Central Midwest for the Hazelden Foundation.   Kelly earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication with a double emphasis in Radio/TV/Film and Interpersonal Communications from Eastern Illinois University and is a Illinois state-certified teacher of English and Speech in secondary education. She is currently getting her Master’s in Healthcare Administration through Bellevue University. Kelly is a board member of The Recovery Foundation in Madison, WI., a nonprofit foundation with the sole purpose of raising funds to support those who need financial assistance with drug and alcohol treatment. She is also a board member of Project Change Recovery High School,  a charter school in the School District of Waukesha and one of two recovery high schools in Wisconsin. Email Kelly Dinsmore

 

Mary Egan, MAM, CADC

Director of Outreach

egan1Mary Egan worked for nearly 17 years as the Student Assistance Program Coordinator for a Chicago area high school. Her experiences include facilitating the intervention and student support teams, developing a mandatory smoking education program, training and supervising peer mediation, Students Against Destructive Decisions and student helper groups. In addition, Mary provided training and education for students, staff, and parents on substance abuse and related issues. Prior to this position she served as Prevention Specialist for Cook County Sheriff’s Youth Services. She holds a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling from University of Illinois at Springfield and two Bachelor’s degrees in Alcohol Education and Psychology. Mary joined Rosecrance in 2008. Claudia Evenson, CSADC

Claudia Evenson

Claudia Evenson coordinates various community activities such as educational programming in schools and early intervention classes. Evenson holds a certificate in Addiction Studies from Felician College and is a Certified Supervisor Alcohol Drug Counselor. She currently serves as a delegate to the Illinois Student Assistance Professional Board, as well as sits on the Community Network Regarding LGBTQ Youth for DuPage County, Illinois. Lisa Primm, MS, LPC, CADC

Lisa Primm

Lisa Primm is primarily responsible for relationship building and business development in Rockford and the northwestern counties of Illinois. She first joined Rosecrance in 1994 as a Unit Counselor at Rosecrance on Alpine. Lisa joined the marketing team the following year. She also has nine years experience at another treatment center She holds a Master’s degree in Education from Northern Illinois University and is certified as a Licensed Practical Counselor and as an addictions counselor. Rachel Ridge, LCSW, CRADC, PCGC, MISA II

Community Relations Coordinator

rachelridgeRachel Ridge is a licensed clinical social worker and certified alcohol and drug counselor.  She also has certifications in grief counseling and pathological gambling and has a Type 73, school social work certificate.  She has lots of field experience in addiction having worked on an inpatient hospital unit for 5 years as a counselor.  She also worked in the behavioral health department of the same hospital, in both the inpatient and outpatient psychiatric programs.  She recently joined Rosecrance in the New Year of 2014 as their Community Relations Coordinator.   Rachel received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Rachel also speaks and teaches on a variety of topics.  Rachel has served as an adjunct professor at Trinity Christian College and is currently serving as a member of their Social Work Advisory Board. The Rev. James E. Swarthout, M. Div., MSW, CAADC

Clergy Community Relations Coordinator

jimswarthoutThe Rev. James E. Swarthout is the Clergy Community Relations Coordinator, who does outreach work with area clergy and their congregations. In addition to his longtime experience as an Episcopal priest for the Diocese of Chicago, Swarthout has professional credentials in social work and addictions counseling. His service as a priest for more than 27 years includes ministry to parishes in Rockford, Crystal Lake, Algonquin, West Dundee and McHenry. Swarthout’s résumé of community service is lengthy. Among many other things, he is the founder of the St. Paul Diaper Bank Partnership and a founding member of the board of directors of the National Diaper Bank Network. Email Rev. James E. Lindsey Vass, MSW, CADC

Lindsey Vass

Lindsey Vass is an outreach counselor providing assessments and drug and alcohol education at Rosecrance’s six Chicago area offices. She has clinical experience providing addiction counseling and education to individuals and groups. Vass has a B.A. in communications and business from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s Degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago. Her graduate emphasis was mental health, with a subspecialty of addiction counseling. She is an Illinois certified alcohol and drug counselor. Email Lindsay Vass

 

Sara Watts, MA, LPC

Outreach Counselor
Sara WattsSara has worked as a Clinical Therapist Intern at Resurrection Hospital, St. Elizabeth’s Behavioral Outpatient Unit and as a Counseling Therapy Intern at Live at Peace Reconciliation Services. She has a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Trinity International University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois. Christopher Yadron, MDiv, MA, LCPC, CADC

Director of Chicago Recovery Services

Christopher Yadron is the Director of Chicago Recovery Services. He oversees the clinical operations for Rosecrance in the Chicago area, including two adolescent outpatient treatment programs and student assistance contracts for several area high schools.

Yadron joined Rosecrance in 2011 as Director of Outreach and has been in the behavioral health field for 18 years. As a counselor, he has worked in a variety of clinical settings helping individuals and families with addiction and mental health concerns. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts from Loyola University in Chicago. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Trinity Christian College. He is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Illinois. He belongs to the American Counseling Association (ACA). Yadron often speaks at conferences and workshops on adolescent addiction, multicultural competency & addiction counseling, and co-occurring disorders. Email Christopher Yadron
