"What Can I Say to Convince Them to Quit?" Workshop
Why is it so difficult to get a loved one to stop abusing drugs and alcohol? What can parents do in advance to prevent serious problems for their children?
“What Can I Say to Convince Them to Quit?” is offered in various communities for family members and others who are concerned about a loved one’s substance use and want answers to these and other questions.
Workshop attendees will learn new ways of interacting with a loved one regarding his/her use of substances. Participants will hear a personal story of addiction and recovery; learn what to avoid when talking with a loved one who abuses drugs or alcohol; and connect with helpful resources for support, intervention and treatment.
