Rosecrance Adult Family Support Services help members of the family learn about the disease of addiction and the process of recovery in a comprehensive manner.  Everyone has been affected and everyone can benefit by participating in the various services offered.  Our family programs are designed to provide you with answers to your questions-not only how to cope with your loved one's addiction, but also ways to cope with how the experience has affected you.

Family Visits
Families attending the Family Education Program on either or both session days may have lunch with their family member.  Women's visitation is on Saturday. Families with female patients who attend the Saturday session start their visit at 2:30 pm. Men's visitation is on Sunday. Families with male patients who attend the education program on Sunday start their visitation at 2:30 pm. Regular visitation hours for those not attending the Family Program are from 3:00 - 4:30 pm.

Individual Family Sessions
Family sessions are scheduled on an individual basis and generally involve the patient, the primary counselor and those individuals the patient chooses to involve.  The Family Program Coordinator is also available by appointment to conduct individual sessions with families.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q
: Is participation in family services mandatory?
A:  Participation is strongly recommended.  Studies have shown that the more family members and significant others are involved in the treatment process, the more positive the outcome for the patient and family.

Q: Is there any fee for any family services?
A: No, there is no additional cost for any of these services.  If you choose to have lunch with your patient during the weekend educational sessions, we do ask for a $5.00 donation toward lunch costs.

Q:  Who should participate in family services?
A: Family support services are recommended for all family members and significant others.  Participation of children 10 years of age or older is encouraged.

Q:  How do I prevent my loved one from relapsing?
A: Rosecrance will guide you through the process of understanding your role in supporting your loved one's recovery through the services we provide.
