Rosecrance Helps Children and Families Achieve Lasting Recovery

Need help now? Call (866) 330-8729 for immediate child and family treatment.

Many families do not feel prepared when a child has a serious mental health disorder. Once the initial impact wears off, there are many questions: What do we do now? Where can I go for help?

At Rosecrance, we help these children and adolescents deal with their challenges and develop the necessary skills to prepare for a life beyond treatment. We focus on assessment, treatment and recovery while also supporting parents and other family members with compassion, inclusion in the process and reason for real hope. We do this by providing the most advanced,  comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for young people’s mental health disorders.

Our staff includes board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists and a full range of substance abuse and mental health professionals who specialize in — and have a passion for — treating young people. Rosecrance services for children and adolescents and their families are based on medical evidence and delivered in a child-friendly environment. Physician services and medication management are part of every program provided at our Rosecrance Ware Center as well as our short-term residential program at the Rosecrance Griffin Williamson Campus.

Assessment for Rosecrance services

Our comprehensive services for children and youth begin with a screening process. We evaluate each child’s needs in depth and provide a diagnosis and recommendation for care. In addition to giving parents and guardians a full explanation of the child’s needs, we explain the benefits of their active involvement in treatment, recovery and purposeful life. For needed services not offered at Rosecrance, we’ll make referrals to other agencies, because our commitment is to the child’s well-being and realization of his or her full potential.

Our Children and Family Therapy Program has four options

The Rosecrance Children and Family Therapy Program provides individual and family counseling and advocacy. The program includes four evidence-based practices:

  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Counseling takes place at Rosecrance Ware Center and can be scheduled voluntarily or for court-ordered individuals. The most frequent diagnoses in the Children and Family Therapy Program are ADHD, behavioral disorders, bi-polar disorder and depression.

Residential Mental Health Treatment provides teens with the support they need

Sometimes, teens benefit from a more intensive treatment program. That’s why we provide residential care for mental health disorders at our Rosecrance Griffin Williamson Campus. The short-term residential treatment program allows for highly individualized care tailored for your child’s needs.

Your teen will stay in a therapeutic environment with a team of experts who specialize in adolescent mental health disorders. Adolescents continue their school curriculum throughout the program and attend individual and group therapies, including art, music and recreational therapies. Rosecrance gives children and teens the tools they need to face the challenges ahead, as well as healthy coping skills to carry with them into recovery.

This therapeutic mentoring program teaches life skills to children, including social skills, self-esteem, boundaries and coping. The program is five hours per week and lasts up to six months. Typically, children are referred by their Rosecrance Ware Center counselor.
